Originally a University of Queensland (UQ) veterinary graduate, I have a lifelong passions for animals (cats!) and all things education. My early career was in the UK, working in general practice, completing a residency in feline medicine at the University of Liverpool and the RCVS Cert. in Small Animal Medicine and the ANZCVS Membership in Medicine of Cats.
Home in Australia I have worked in feline, referral and University practices – consolidating big passions for clinical teaching, post-graduate education & all aspects of small animal medicine. During 7 years at UQ’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital I was the first Clinical Academic in Small Animal Medicine and a founding student of the UQ School of Medicine Grad Cert in Clinical Education.
A sea change saw a return to private medical practice plus an opportunity to work in post graduate veterinary education.
I joined the Improve Team in late 2015 and in January 2019 became the Director of Operations of Veterinary Education and Training & Improve International Australia.
My aim is that every candidate of our education programs gains relevant, practical knowledge to upskill and empower them so there is the opportunity for professional growth, career progress and excellance in animal care.
Originally from Christchurch I’ve been on the Sunshine Coast with my family for nearly 10 years. My husband and I have two gorgeously bright, challenging and thoughtful daughters, but we are mostly ruled by two cats and a dog.
I manage Improve’s Marketing requirements and the online learning platform (Moodle) and aim to provide delegates with a smooth online learning experience. I also coordinate the delivery of our fast track and face to face modules. As your program manager I’m here to help you make the most of your program, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or issues, no matter how big or small!
I’ve worked in education for many years in different roles, and what I love about Improve is the passion the team has for educating and empowering vets.
I have been working in small animal practice since 2007 and completed my certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2008.
I worked in large veterinary hospitals prior to joining the Improve International team. In clinic I have always had an interest in admin and reception and have joined Improve to be an admin assistant and operations co-ordinator. Ongoing learning and education is so important in the ever changing world of vet medicine and I hope to be able to assist you all with your next learning journey.
I live with my husband, and our two children. We also share our home with our three cats, Percy, Basil and Milo and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Stark.
Erin has worked in the veterinary industry for over 15 years in a finance/HR/administration capacity, and more recently with Improve in accounts/administration and working with the team in event logistics.
Owned by three cats and two dogs (mostly rescue animals), Erin is keen to help the team further continuing education in the veterinary industry.
