Following graduation from the University of Queensland, Kieri spent 2 years in private practice in Australia before relocating to the United Kingdom. She initially worked for the PDSA animal charity before undertaking a residency in Small Animal Surgery at the Glasgow University Veterinary School. During her residency Kieri was awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. She subsequently joined the faculty at North Carolina State University as Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery before returning to the United Kingdom, University of Edinburgh. Kieri is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal) and a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. She is a recognised European and Royal Veterinary College Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
In 2016, Kieri returned to Australia to join the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Charles Sturt University. She is actively involved in translational and clinical surgical research, undergraduate and post graduate veterinary tuition and continues to provide clinical service support. Kieri contributes nationally to veterinary Continuing Professional Development programs and continues to serve on multiple committees within the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
