Anaesthesia is a situation in which there is a change to part of the animal’s physiology substantially and we’re all aware of this because when we talk to owners about the risks of anaesthesia, we tell them that it’s no anaesthetic is completely safe.
However, anaesthesia is often seen as a means to an end, necessary to facilitate things like surgery, diagnostic procedures and in some very busy practices, it can sometimes be undertaken with less care and attention than is needed, and corners can occasionally be cut in the name of efficiency in economy.
