GPCert SAM

The GPCert (Small Animal Medicine) is a post-graduate qualification awarded by the independent awarding institution, International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS).

The GPCert (Small Animal Medicine) qualification has been validated by Harper Adams University (HAU) United Kingdom and is recognised globally.

Candidates for the GPCert(Small Animal Medicine) are required to be delegates of the accredited Improve International Australia SAM Online Learning program as a prerequisite of registration with the ISVPS.*

ISVPS requirements

Candidates sitting examination in 2024

To achieve the GPCert(Small Animal Medicine) in 2024, candidates must complete and pass the following:

  • Register with the ISVPS by 29 March 2024, and pay the applicable fees
  • Complete two-year ISVPS-accredited modular training program
  • Submit to ISVPS a case report (20 case logs)—due 18th July 2024 (TBC)
  • Sit the Online Applied Knowledge Exam (OAKE)—25 September 2024 (TBC)
  • Candidates must study all areas of the course syllabus and successfully complete the ISVPS requirements. In some cases, not all of the course syllabus is covered in the taught program and additional study will be required.
